Customer Service – Milling – Delivery Assistance

Applicants for this position should consider this position requires the following:

  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Woodworking experience required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and customer’s plans.
  • Ability to safely use basic equipment in our mill and fork lift (training provided).

Responsibilities:  Receiving and putting stock away: plywood, lumber, and store inventory as needed.  Assist in the milling and fabrication process of customer orders and assist commercial manufacturing as needed. A valid non-CDL drivers license is required with the ability to obtain a medical card to drive our 16 foot box truck.  Delivery responsibilities include but are not limited to loading, securing, unloading materials at residential addresses and commercial construction sites, some variation to work-day schedule may occur occasionally, maintaining vehicle and drivers log.

Parkerville Wood Products is seeking a qualified estimator for our custom and high-end architectural millwork company with retail component in Manchester, Connecticut.  Expertise in a wide range of woodworking disciplines will be necessary for the qualified candidate.  A minimum of 5 years of experience in similar role is required.  Additional cabinetmaking, drafting, project management, or other experience in the millwork industry would also be beneficial.

Candidates being encouraged to apply include those who: have strong communication skills; possess a firm knowledge of the entire millwork manufacturing process including installation and logistics; have acquired vast knowledge of the woodworking industry including, but not limited to, hardware, materials, LEEDS and AWI QCP projects and documentation requirements; are found to be self-guided, motivated, and well organized; have an ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously; can navigate and comprehend typical millwork documentation in order to prepare thorough and concise quotations; have an ability to read and accurately interpret client notes, sketches and other correspondence; adhere to deadlines to submit bid packages and will track and follow-up on quoted work until it has been awarded; will seek out new opportunities and clients to bid work with; are proficient with the use of PC base computers and Microsoft Office software at a minimum.
