Greetings Friends,

Happy summer to you all. We are in our normal seasonal pattern where our manufacturing business is busy, some customers and contractors are getting outside work done, but many hobbyists and woodworkers are working in their gardens, vacationing, and are spending a little less time in their shops. We have recently expanded our product lines with more exterior materials, including some from our purchase of the inventory from The Woodery in Lunenburg, MA., which I have mentioned in previous newsletters. We still have lots of wood there that we are trucking to our plant in Manchester. We have great offerings for decking if that’s in your plans for the future.

As many of you know, we sell a full line of epoxy products, including materials for building river tables and other projects with artistic, colorful details and designs. Chris Chaffin, our in-house epoxy artist builds these extraordinary works of art at his home studio in Coventry. Chris developed a short curriculum to demonstrate how to use these products that we offered free of charge to our customers and have subsequently given this demonstration to over 100 people in the past few months. We are exploring putting together an advanced, hands-on class that would have a fee to cover materials and associated costs. Keep your eyes on the newsletter and our social media for upcoming details.

Parkerville is also working to expand our capabilities and capacity to better service our existing clients as well as better serve larger builders and contractors. We are now stocking some S4S lumber in Poplar and Red Oak and want to expand to a full line of S4S lumber to include materials such as 1 x 3s through 1×12’s all milled, in our racks ready to go. Cherry, Maple, Red & White Oak, Poplar, and possibly other species as well. As we grow, we find ourselves in need of more space for inventory and manufacturing. We are working with a commercial realtor searching for a 30-40,000/sf building or an appropriate piece of land to build on.

We continue to have a few struggles that several businesses today are experiencing, including being short-staffed. For the first time ever, we are pushing out some of our delivery dates and looking closely at the types of work that we take on to make sure it’s suitable for us and our clients. We have made several recent hires that we are very excited about, but we continue to look for talented people to join our team. Currently, we are looking for a skilled finisher, skilled cabinet makers/assemblers, a moulder/shaper operator, a skilled project manager, as well as a retail sales/customer service person. During this challenging period, we ask for and appreciate your patience and understanding.

We are currently working on some exciting projects going on at Yale, Travelers, a large residence in Glastonbury, and a residence in Southampton on Long Island.

In closing, I wish to thank you for the business that we do together and for your help in supporting our talented staff and their families. Our workers are our most valuable asset and without them, we would not be making sawdust. We will continue to work diligently every day to earn your trust and business. We never take it for granted. Thank You.

I hope to see you at the shop.

Sincerely,

David Harris
