Greetings Friends,
As I sit to write this, there is a prediction for our first accumulation of snow. Maybe 6” or so but as I tune in to the television it looks like the State is shutting down. We have been so deprived of snow this year that everyone thinks a snow day is in order. I only started my snow blower once this year and that was to move it from my shed to my garage. Not a great year for skiers and snowmobilers but look at the bright side, if you’re not up north having fun skiing and snowmobiling, you can always stay home and do more woodworking.
A few months ago, we decided to join the Connecticut Home Builders and Remodelers Association. It’s a great group of professionals that work together to support each other and the various construction trades and service companies that support them. It’s something I have considered several times over the years but never did join for a variety of reasons. In recent years our increased sales of hardwood and softwood lumber, cabinet grade plywood, and our milling services, as well as adding to our staff to better serve builders have changed the dynamics of Parkerville. Changes that position us to better serve builders? Our S4S program, is available in several species, a variety of deck material options, our ability to match mouldings, expanded lines of Cedar and other softwood lumber, stair/rail/baluster parts, to name a few.
This weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is the annual Connecticut Home Builders and Remodelers Association’s Home Show at the Connecticut Convention Center. If you plan to attend, I’d like to offer you tickets at a 50% discount. Please go to this website, www.cthomeshow.com , click on “Buy Tickets”. Before you check out click on “Apply Coupon”. and use the code “HBRA”. If you decide to attend, please visit our double booth #1235, near where Kloter Farms will be set up.
Not too much new at the shop last month. We’re starting to work on our new building on Brainard Pl. in Downtown Manchester. There is code compliance work to do and new bathrooms to build. That will help facilitate our lumber sales and inventory. We’ll keep you posted on our progress.
As always, thanks so much for your business and for supporting our goals here at Parkerville.
We are always here to help you to build a better project.
I hope to see you at the shop.
Sincerely,
David Harris
