Greetings Friends,

As the warmer weather approaches, we spend more time outside cleaning up our yards and gardens and looking forward to maybe traveling a little more this summer than in the past two years. This of course means that you may be spending a little less time in your woodshops. We understand that and have made an effort to bring in more materials that are suited for exterior work. Materials for planter boxes or raised beds, decking material, Adirondack chairs, etc. We also understand that many of you are professionals and serious hobbyists that operate year-round. We’re always here to assist with your projects.

Recently we purchased a couple of private wood collections. Typically, these are stashes of choice wood collected over many years by woodworkers and can include some pretty spectacular, unique things. Typically, they are owned by older gentlemen (like me) that start to realize that they may not live long enough to build things from these treasures that they have collected. About a year ago I in fact sold my own personal wood collection to my own company for that very reason. And I (and my wife) wanted to clean out my garage. We can’t possibly post all these items online so it’s worth visiting to check out some of the unique things we have. If your father or uncle (or mother or aunt) wants to sell their old wood collection, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

In a previous newsletter, I mentioned that we had purchased some of the assets from a place in Lunenburg, Mass. called The Woodery. (I hadn’t previously mentioned the name) We purchased all the lumber, as well as lots of other assets, and we are in the process of moving the material here to CT. Lots of softwoods such as Southern Yellow Pine, Vertical Grain Fir, Sitka Spruce, and several species of Cedar. Also included were thousands of board feet of premium hardwoods and a lot of live edge material. Watch for our posts on social media for new inventory items.

As we continue to roll through this pandemic, Parkerville has not escaped unscathed. This past month, Covid found its way into our shop and office, but fortunately, no one has gotten very sick as a result. Every employee that works here has been vaccinated and we have always implemented safe practices. This has however presented us with some difficulties keeping our busy workload moving forward. Please be patient with us as we try our best to live up to our commitments and continue to navigate the challenges that face most businesses today.

I look forward to seeing you at the Shop.

Regards,
