Happy New Year to you all. I hope your holidays were restful and enjoyable. 2025 was a great year for Parkerville as we celebrated our 20th anniversary in business. Thank you to all of our loyal customers throughout the years, as well as our hard-working, dedicated staff. We could not be more grateful for our team, customers and community.

There was a time in America—within the lifetime of our great-grandparents—when the American chestnut was nothing short of legendary. Towering over rural communities from Maine to Georgia, these trees dominated the Eastern forests.

Starting on November 1st until the end of the year, we will be accepting nonperishable food items as well as toiletry products that will be delivered weekly to the MACC (Manchester Area Conference of Churches) food pantry in our hometown of Manchester. If you can help, it will be most appreciated. I’m shocked and dismayed that 360,000 of our neighbors in CT (42m nationally), are about to lose their SNAP (food assistance) benefits. How did we get here? Most of these people need this assistance desperately, and many have children to feed who will suffer and are not at fault. Food pantries are overwhelmed. Any small contribution helps.

Shortly after starting Parkerville in 2005, we joined a national trade organization called the Wood Products Manufacturers Association (WPMA). Parkerville was finding its way in the early days, and the exposure to a wide range of wood and woodworking-related companies around the country was beneficial for Parkerville.

I more recent news, we were recently able to acquire our main 20,000-sf facility and 4 acers of land at 580 Parker St. in Manchester, CT, where we have been located for nearly 20 years.

…we had received a call from a Lead Shipwright from McMillen Yachts, in Newport Rhode Island. They had started a multimillion-dollar restoration in 2022 of a 34 m (almost 112 ft.) yacht named Maemere.

I have always had a curiosity and incentive to explore and search for unique things and businesses when I travel. It usually starts with an internet search for hardwood sellers or woodworking operations that provide products and services similar Parkerville.

The Yale Center of British Art is a fascinating place, and I encourage you to visit. YCBA has been closed for the past two years while this major renovation was taking place.
